SHOCKED AND APPALLED? NOT HARDLY

Harvey Weinstein is exposed. The movie mogul is in a deep plot worthy of a triple X movie.

But what have the elites in Hollywood done to the world's morals? What do movie moguls ask actors and actresses to do in movie sets on and off screen?

And don't get me started on Hugh Hefner and his adolescent contribution to the sexual revolution.

And we are shocked? Not hardly.

How do you spell H-Y-P-O-C-R-S-Y?

The face of the Democratic Party which fake catholics support, the party of intrinsic evil.

MSM called Democrats out on not speaking about Harvey’s behavior. That was shocking. As for Hugh, can anyone not see his philosophy in The Donald? In this state there is a governor who prioritizes craft beer, marajuiana (only for medicinal purposes) and the gay agenda. If I were to say anything derogatory about this at the works and mention my Catholic faith, I would be labeled intolerant and could face disciplinary action.

Suggesting that Hugh Hefner's philosophy is the same as Trump's is absurd. I guess both were entrepreneurs, but that is about as far as it goes for those of us who do not know either man. I have a far more negative impression of Hefner than I do of Trump.

Anonymous, the Governor of New Yawk is a fake catholic and the progeny of fake catholic, Mario Cuomo.

Hugh Hefner and Oprah Winfrey both promoted making perversion normal - both Dems. Go figure, but the worst are the corrupt priests and bishops who support the Democratic aka Abortion Party. They are beyond disgusting.

Weinstein's been fired and roundly criticized by folks of all persuasions and many Democratic pols are returning his donations. Conservatives elected Trump president. Explain to me again about the H-Y-P-O-C-R-S-Y??

TJM, did someone say NY? In comparing Hugh to Donald in terms of morality, who am I to judge. I find the similarities between the Trump and Playboy brand to be similar. That’s not judging, it’s a simple observation. Are both those brands better or worse than what the liberals are pushing? I don’t think they are worse.

Anonymous said...

Trump and Hefner share a similar philosophy.

Both Trump and Hefner believed in and practiced sexual degradation and abuse.

Both Trump and Hefner exploit others for their own financial gains.

Both Trump and Hefner use appeals to people's basest motives and desires.

Both Trump and Hefner are prime examples of narcissism and unresolved adolescence.

Yes, Trump and Hefner share a similar philosophy.

Supporting either is morally corrupt.

TJM said...

Anonymous,

Yes, what the brand the liberals are pushing is far worse - abortion, just for one. By the way, Trump uprooted Obama's attack on religious freedom the other day = discarding the contraception mandate. The bishops will say nothing about Trump's order, because they are enablers of the political left in this country. Sad!

Gene said...

Anonymous@11:26, those are merely your opinions. There is no basis for your pop psychoanalysis of either man. Any sophomore in college can argue that any business enterprise "exploits others for financial gain;" you could even say it about the Church. You really don't know what you are talking about.

If you live in a conservative red state like Georgia, you know that abortions are just as popular and plentiful here as in so-called liberal states. Conservatives love to beat the drum over abortion but in 45 years have not taken any concrete steps -- for example, a constitutional amendment. Why would they? The issue is a useful tool in their electoral toolbox and nothing more. Except for people like the "pro-life" Republican congressman who tried to convince his mistress to get an abortion or Trump, who refuses to discuss how many abortions he's been responsible for. Don't let anybody kid you. Conservatives love abortion, just not publicly.

Anonymous said...

Gene, Trump has a documented record of stiffing plumbers, electricians, vendors and other working people at his properties without payment. Hefner's record of exploiting women speaks for itself. I don't think it's a matter of opinion to say both exploit others for financial gain. How in the world can you compare either one to the Church? Crazy Town.

"If you live in a conservative red state like Georgia, . . . "

It occurs to me that, back in the days when Catholics were really Catholic, many Catholics were probably weak and human sinners just like non-Catholics. The difference--and it's a distinction that I think makes all the difference--was that they did not believe or claim that their transgressions weren't really sins. Instead they forthrightly confessed their sins as such, and were shriven.

"Merely your opinions" is 1) a dodge, and 2) factually wrong.

Shall we quote from the Access Hollywood tape?

"I moved on her, and I failed. I'll admit it. I did try and f**k her. She was married. And I moved on her very heavily. In fact, I took her out furniture shopping. She wanted to get some furniture. I said, "I'll show you where they have some nice furniture." I took her out furniture—I moved on her like a b***h. But I couldn't get there. And she was married. Then all of a sudden I see her, she's now got the big phony t**s and everything. She's totally changed her look."

"I better use some Tic Tacs just in case I start kissing her. You know I'm automatically attracted to beautiful—I just start kissing them. It's like a magnet. Just kiss. I don't even wait. And when you're a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab 'em by the p***y. You can do anything."

No opinions here. Facts, just facts.

Now, you will tell us that is was a) long ago or b) "locker room talk", or 3) some other utterly lame rationale for not recognizing Donald Trump for exactly what he is.

You voted for him, you continue to support him. As the movie rating go, that support is morally objectionable in part of all.

Anonymous, I know you support the Abortion Party (formerly the Democratic Party) so you are desperate to assuage your very little conscience. Does Soros pay you to post here?

TJM: No, I am not paid to post here. Has your check from Putin cleared yet?

TJM, which party is the Abortion Party? I can't tell anymore.

Bee here:

Worldly people act in worldly ways. One of those ways is hypocrisy.

I guess I'm only offended by these celebrity types when they stand on a soapbox with a pretense of moral superiority. At those times I almost never forget that they live with a veneer of respectability but often their private lives are anything but respectable. When the "scandals" hit I often sense it's just the tip of the iceberg and the truth and extent of the scandal is probably far worse. However, since I don't trust any of them as far as I could throw them, when their lies are exposed it doesn't have much effect on me. It's hard to be disappointed when skeptical to begin with.

This was not the case when the priest pedophilia scandals hit. I was very hurt and disappointed by the extent of the crimes and the actions of bishops. I had trusted that priests were in private what they claimed to be in public. But I felt even more betrayed by bishops who were more concerned with damage control than protection of the flock, and did not excise the perpetrators from our midst as soon as the crime was known to them. Their actions hurt worse since I had trusted them to manage the shepherds for the safety of the flock. I don't anymore.

I won't cast a stone at the Weinsteins of the world. It's better for me if I just focus on Jesus Christ and use stories such as Weinstein's to validate for myself once again how right Jesus was on His take on the world.

God bless.

Anonymous @ 1:53 and how do you think Bill Clinton talked? Or Hillary? Or LBJ at a WH staff meeting,"Well, what are we gonna' do for the niggers this morning?" Not to mention that Clinton acted out his talk and we now have a blue dress that is Presidential symbol...then, there is JFK screwing Marilyn, Angie Dickinson, and a host of others. Trump is a lightweight compared to these people. But, Trump is a Republican so his little bit of guy BS is a capital crime. Give me a brerak...

If you would do just a little research, you would find that what you are asserting is demonstrably false. The states with the highest rates and and numbers of abortion are primarily left leaning Blue states such as California and New York,
with Joe Biden's home state leading the pack. The lowest abortion rates are in Red states such as Wyoming , South Dakota, North Dakota, Kentucky and Idaho. As for the state of Georgia, its ranking in abortion rate(15th) is below that of it population ranking (8th).

Many conservative states have passed legislation to at least reduce abortion rates, only to have those laws struck down by the courts which don't want to allow even the most minimal of restrictions.

Anonymous (Kavanaugh),

Well the Dem Party promotes in its Party Platform unrestricted abortion up to the time the baby can breathe on their own and the Republicans supports abolishing the woman's right to murder their unborn. If Pius XI were alive today he would likely condemn the modern Democratic Party just as he did the Nazis, Fascists, and Communists. Have you no decency, have you no shame?

Because I am pro-life (in ALL issues), I vote for practices and policies that will reduce abortions. That includes education for young women, health-care access and counseling and other services, like adoption.
Abortions dropped big-time during the Clinton years and then again during the two Obama terms. The national abortion rate now is basically down to what it was before Roe v. Wade.
I am thankful for that.
Historically, abortions have risen during Republican administrations and, given the current administration policies, seem likely to rise again. The greatest number of abortions in history happened during the Reagan years.
If you're against abortion, vote to reduce abortions, not for con men promising the magic-wand approach that somehow never seems to pan out.
If you're pro-abortion, vote Republican. It's always worked in the past.

Anonymous at 1:17:

You speak of Georgia being a "conservative red state", but there is a big difference in attitudes between metro Atlanta (home to about 60 percent of the state's voters) and the other 40 percent outside of there. Metro Atlanta backed Obama in 2008 and 2012 and gave Clinton an 8-point lead (nearly 200,000-vote margin) over Trump. She lost the "other Georgia" by 24 points (about 400,000 votes). Metro Atlanta voted for the state lottery in 1992 (while most of the rural counties said "no" to that); Sunday retail alcohol sales won easily here in various local referenda since Deal became governor. I don't say this with glee, but I suspect there is a lot of quiet "pro-choice" sentiment on abortion in the affluent areas up here like Buckhead, Sandy Springs and Dunwoody. Over time, metro Atlanta grows faster than the rest of the state, so it may not be too many more years before liberal Democrats can win statewide here. Conservative Democrats in Georgia have either moved onto eternity or switched parties; you can be assured that the Republican choice for governor here next year, whoever that may be, will be preferable to the Democratic one when it comes to abortion---the leading Democratic contender already has the support of NARAL (the abortion "rights" group) if that tells you anything!!!!

TJM said...

Anonymous (Kavanaugh) you have no data to back that up claim. But here's some data for you that's verifiable: African-American women in New York City have the highest percentage of abortions than any group in the nation. I doubt they're Republicans. And Republicans don't advocate selling aborted babies bodies, like your Party does.

TJM, stop bearing false witness. And stop calling me Kavanaugh.

Post hoc ergo propter hoc.

Also regarding the drop in abortions-you are aware of the increased use of abortifacients?
The other thing about the numbers:abortuaries are the least regulated industry in America. Does anyone really know how many abortions Kermit Gosnell performed?
It would be so easy for that industry to "cook the books" to make Mssrs. Clinton and Obama look good.

James J,

The Non-Catholic here who posts as "Anonymous" likely gets his "statistics" from Planned Abortionhood, an organization which is sympathico with the Third Reich and whose founder, Margaret Sanger, was a truly evil woman who wanted to eradicate Blacks and "defectives."
